13 month update

Sweet Pea is now 13 months old! She's walking everywhere, and talking more and more. Currently her favorite thing to do, is to bring Mister or I one of her babies and have us play with her.

She's discovering her screaming voice, which is, and loud. But, it's also really funny. She gets really excited.

We just got back from her well child check up, and she weighs 26.2 lbs (97 percentile) and is 30.5 inches long (85 percentile) She's doing wonderfully!

Help a fellow mamma get her pictures and videos back

A friend of mine had her pictures and family movies stolen, including birth videos, as she was moving out of state! There's a news report that I'm trying to share everywhere I can think of, to help her get them back. I would be devastated if I lost just one picture of Sweet Pea. Please, put yourself in this mamma's shoes. Wouldn't you want people to share your story? Click the link, and share share share!

Wordy Wednesday

A friend of mine started this, and I thought it was an amazing idea! I'm great at taking pictures of Sweet Pea, but would like to document her life in words a little more. Each week, I'd like to try to bullet point things about Sweet Pea.

  • She claps her feet when she's really excited about something.
  • She loves FaceTiming with my mom, and always looks behind the iPad to see if she's there. She does it some with the TV too.
  • She's extremely ticklish, especially under her arms.
  • Her favorite words to say are giggle and wiggle.
  • She bring her puppy baby to Mister, so he will sing with her.
  • If she doesn't like a food, she sticks out her tongue and just lets it fall out of her mouth.
  • She still puts the blanket up by her nose to fall asleep.

Public Service Announcement

This is a public service announcement.

The next person that calls my baby fat, in anything but a loving, "she's so chunky, I could eat her up" kind of way, may be bitch slapped. This includes doctors.

Sweet Pea is a chunk. But she's also only 12 months old, 13 months tomorrow. She's a baby, and I will not restrict her calorie intake. We feed her healthy foods, she's just meant to be a chunk. And if she's still a chunk at 12 years? I will love her all the same.

Do not make comments about my baby's weight, unless you're saying how much you love her chunk. Because I do. I love every inch of her. And if you can't except her for who she is, or who she's going to be, then you don't need to be a part of our lives.

I think all of this is stemming from Sweet Pea's upcoming Well Child appointment. Her doctor always complains that Sweet Pea is too heavy. And that we should be feeding her mainly leafy greens. It gives me anxiety, and pisses me off. And if she does it again this week, I will be saying something. And we will be switching doctors. Enough is enough.

End rant.

Sargento Ultra Thin review

So I do this thing on Influnester. Every once in a while they send me something to review, I try it out log in and review it.
This time it was Sargento Ultra Thin cheese. They sent me two coupons and a cooler bag. The coupons were for a dollar off, and a free package.
Mister went to the store, he does the shopping. So he picked the cheese. He got pepper jack. Not my favorite flavor, but it was still good. When he got home, he said "I don't think you've ever seen cheese this thin!" And it really is thin!
I liked it because it's only 40 calories, but you don't give up any of the flavor, like you do with other "lite" cheeses.

We threw them on our burgers the first time we used them, and it was goooood! I've also had them with crackers, and just had a sandwich with them. Also really good. This was a really fun and tasty review. Looking forward to more!

Letters to Sweet Pea 12.5 months

Dear Sweet Pea,

You're one! A whole year old! How did that happen? I can no longer say, "This time last year, you were still in my belly." I had a really hard time with you turning one, but man am I enjoying you being one!

You eat like a big kid now. Formula is a thing of the past. As soon as you turned one you wanted your cows milk and your big people food. You eat 4-5 smallish meals a day. Your all time favorite foods a grapes, cottage cheese and pears. You even tolerate broccoli! If a bite is too big, or you don't like something, you just stick out your tongue, and let all the food fall out of your mouth. I'd rather you not do this, but it's also quite funny.

You still sleep with Mommy every night, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. That's when Mommy gets her Sweet Pea snuggles in. You also still nap on Mommy, or in Mommy's arms. A lot of people say you will be too big for this soon, and I say, that's why I'm doing it now. You sleep through the night still, only waking to get a drink of water sometimes.

I don't even know where to start with your development. You've started walking for one! The day after you turned 11 months, you took 4 running steps and then didn't do anything for a couple weeks. Now, you walk all over the place!

You're trying really hard to talk. You say Mama. Dada, Nei nei (milk), No, Hi, aaaand WIGGLE/GIGGLE!!! It's so cute! One of your toys sings it, an you picked it up. Oh, and you sing " E I E I E I" to Old McDonald!

You have 10.5 teeth! 3 of those are molars. And they just kind of popped up.

You love giving kisses to everything and everyone. And you love getting into things you know you're not supposed to. You adore books and reading, so much so that you eat the books, so we keep them up where you can't get them. But we read everyday. When you're really excited or happy, you clap your feet together, and it's the cutest thing in the world!

This year has been the most amazing, best year of my life. All because of you.

Sweet Pea photo drop

Last weekend we went up to my mom's house, to soak up some sun and get a few pictures of Sweet Pea. I originally posted that we weren't going to go up, and, we didn't that day. We went up on Sunday instead. It was a lot of work, but was also a lot of fun. And we got some great pictures of Sweet Pea!

That's really what this post is about, a big photo drop.

This kid really has too much sass for her own good. Not really, she has the perfect amount of sass! There's a Caption This contest going on right now over on the Rock-a-bye Booty Facebook page, featuring this picture. It ends tonight. You should go check it out.

I got a couple pictures with my mom too. I love this one because, you can see how much love there is between them....and the cup.

There will be a real update soon. I promise.

I'm this close....

We were planning on going up to my mom's to visit for the evening. But, that always turns into a lot of work for me. My mom's house isn't very Sweet Pea friendly. There are wires all over the place, which is Sweet Pea's main vice. So we bring the Pac n' Play, which Sweet Pea doesn't really tolerate well. She's used to being able to get up and move as much as she wants.
On top of that, Mister and I are not getting along as best we can. Summer isn't my best time of year mentally, plus taking care of a very active almost toddler. Tension is high right now. So we decided to stay home. And I not so mildly, hinted that Mister will be taking care of Sweet Pea for the rest of the day, while I decompress in the bedroom.
Sometimes a mom needs some time to cool off on her own. Some freaking space, if you will.

Throwback Thursday!

We all know I'm a nostalgic, sappy bit*h. So when Sweet Pea propped herself in this position, and I snapped a picture....I had to compare and share!

I love taking pictures of her when she's sleeping. She's so peaceful and angelic. I probably have a picture a month of her sleeping, if not a picture a week! I hold her while she sleeps, what else is there to do?

I remember when she was a newborn, Mister and I were just sure she was sleeping too much. She slept all the time! We used to have to wake her up to feed her, and tickle her feet to keep her awake long enough to finish eating LOL

I miss my family!

Last night I had a dream that Mister, Sweet Pea and I were at this weird arcade with the BIL and his family. I think I might miss them.

We had so much fun with them while part of the family was here. I wish we had the money to fly back there and visit, but the odds of that happening are slim to none. And they probably won't be here again for another couple years....if that.

But while we had them, it was great. We went to the park, we stayed close to home most of the time. Just had nice quality time together, They were able to come to Sweet Pea's party, which was really special. The only thing that would have made it better is if the SIL and the twins could have come too. Maybe next time.

We spent so much time at the park, that Sweet Pea started to fall asleep on the swing! Everyone took turns pushing her, she just ate up all the attention.
