A year of change

I was finally able to get Sweet Pea's 12 month photo done. Then I went back and looked at her past pictures. I can't believe how much she's changed. I still see her as a 4-5 month old haha I'm so glad I stuck with taking these pictures each month. I know she'll appreciate them when she's older.

I'd like to do something a little different for her second year of life, I'm just not sure what yet. But I want to document how she changes, just like I did here.

Sweet Pea's Very Hungry party

Sweet Pea's party was, ah-may-zing! Everyone was so much help, and was so generous. There were a few bumps in the road, but it turned out great!

I didn't get all the decorating I had planned done, but I got most of it up. We tried to do everything the night before, but with a 12 month old, it didn't really work out. All we really got done were getting these adorable balloon caterpillars up.
The day of the party Sweet Pea and I got up (we stayed the night at my mom's) and tried to stay as close to our routine as possible, while trying to get things done. My mom was making cakes, while I was trying to get more decorating done. Then came nap time.

I needed her to nap before the party, so she wouldn't be a complete mess. The problem was, she usually naps on me, and I needed to help my mom. So I got her to sleep, and attempted to transfer her to her pack n play. I put a big fluffy blanket in there, and laid her down on top of it, SUCCESS! I was free to help my mom.

She then had to go pick up the helium balloons from the party store...so I was left alone to finish everything, which was a lot, and I only had an hour to do it. It didn't get done. But! When my BIL and his kids showed up they jumped into action. I missed them so much, so I had to hug them all. Even *I* who is a 14 year old boy and did not want a hug from his aunt haha
My dad and step mom came and then my aunts. Everyone was helping with making food and setting up tables and chairs, it was great. My grandparents weren't able to come, due to my grandfather falling last week and hurting his kidney really bad. He was in the hospital, and my grandmother was staying with him. But they were there in spirit.

We had burgers and hot dogs, plus a bunch of sides. Part of the decorations, that I didn't get a picture of, were little tags that said "On Monday he ate through one apple" and then it would be in an apple. It was all very cute. I saved the tags, just didn't get pictures.

After everyone finished eating, we started opening presents. We needed to keep things moving, because my aunts wanted to get back to my grandpa. Everyone was very generous. My nieces and nephew took turns taking pictures of Sweet Pea opening her gifts, so Mister and I could just sit back and watch her rip open.

Mister made her this shirt, just for her birthday!
After presents, Sweet Pea was more than ready for a nap, but we had no time for that. It was time for cake!

So we stripped her down to her diaper and set her cake in front of her. She still didn't trust that we weren't trying to trick her. So I took a bit of the frosting and put it in her mouth, then she understood JUST fine.

She fully enjoyed the cake, and the party. The party was a huge success.

I'm planning on doing her 12 month picture tomorrow, when there is some sun. Hopefully she'll sit still long enough to do it. I might have to bribe her with food or something.

I cried today: A letter to Sweet Pea

Dear Sweet Pea,

I cried today, as I fed you your last breakfast as an 11 month old. I cried today, as I gave you your last bath as an 11 month old. And I cry now, as I put you down for your last nap as an 11 month old. For tomorrow, you turn one. You are going to be a whole year old.

This time last year, I was imagining what you were going to look like. Were you going to look more like me, or Daddy? You looked more like Mommy when you were first born, but now you're looking more like Daddy.

I look at you now, as you lay on my chest sound asleep, and you still take my breath away. I am in awe of you. You continue to amaze me every single day. You are the most beautiful little girl in the entire world. I fall more in love with you every day. I'm so lucky to be your mama, Thank you for choosing me.

Sweet Pea is turning one (Huge Photo Drop)

We finally ventured out yesterday and got Sweet Pea's pictures back. They turned out pretty good, especially since she was still sick.

We were going to visit my grandparents too but, my Grandpa fell and the sack around his kidney is bleeding. So he's in the hospital. He's alright, but his kidney is bruised, and he's obviously in a lot of pain.

We also picked up the rest of the swag for the kids' swag bags, for Sweet Pea's party. They're nothing too exciting. Just little toys and such.

Sweet Pea is turning one, TOMORROW! I'm not quite sure where the time went. She's been walking up a storm. Walking from one spot to another, taking a rest and then taking off again. She's hilarious. We always had a feeling she'd be walking before a year. It's not her main form of transportation, but she's walking.

Oh....did you want to see the pictures? We got family pictures too, but as usual Mister doesn't share his pictures ;)

We went with a Superman theme for our main photo shoot. I think they turned out so cute!

Since her party theme is The Very Hungry Caterpillar, we had to do one in her birthday tutu too! We got it from https://www.etsy.com/shop/formyprincesstutus. She was very accommodating and was sure to get it here in time for the photo shoot and party!

This is our all time favorite one! She has so much sass and attitude!

Family Dreams

I had a dream last night about one of my cousins. I don't get to see him very much, and I'm sure it's because I'm hoping him and his wife are coming to Sweet Pea's birthday. Along with his brother and brother's girlfriend. Now thinking back, I can't really remember what the dream was about, but I remember being really happy.

I grew up spending a lot of time at both sets of cousins houses. But, in the summers I would spend a lot of time at this cousin's house in particular. His younger brother and I are only 6 months apart, so we were best friends growing up.

My youngest cousin has some serious baby fever, which I fully support. And my older female cousin has one little boy (who goes by Bug on here) and is currently pregnant with her second little boy! We've grown very close as we've gotten older, and our children have just brought us even closer. And!! She told me last night that Bug might get to come to the party! I've been bummed because she has to work, and lives out of town, but his dad offered to bring him down!! Yaay!

Then we have my younger male cousin, younger by 6 whole months! Him and the 6 months older cousin were born on the same day, but a year apart. We grew up really close too. Him and his baby rabies sister. Unfortunately him and his wife won't be able to make it to Sweet Pea's party. I don't get to see them nearly enough either.

Then their's the youngest of our clan. I didn't have the privilege of meeting her until 2008, when her father married my aunt, but her and her brother's became instant family. She just recently got married, and it was a beautiful ceremony. I don't think they're coming to the party either. But her brother and his amazing family is, which is great, because I'd love to get to know them better.

I tried to find a picture of all of us as kids, on my computer, but I don't have one. I'd have to scan it...and Sweet Pea is sleeping. Maybe I'll add one later.

I love my family so much. I didn't grow up with siblings, so my cousins were the next best thing.

It's been a rough week, but it's over....right?

This week has been hell. I've been an emotional mental wreck. I'm so stressed out, and just about at my wits end. I tried to take a day off from the internet, to decompress...that didn't work so well. Sweet Pea is cutting 2 molars, which is super fun -_- One has broken through for the most part,

I've been looking forward to nap time this week. It's the time of day that I can breathe. Sweet Pea still naps on me, so I can't really get anything done. But I can still relax. My favorite time of the day lately, has been bed time. That time when she's asleep, and I can finally relax and try to fall asleep myself.

The fun part about this week has been, that Sweet Pea is letting me put things in her hair! We went to the Dollar Tree and got a couple packs of bows, and a pack of hair ties. For as long as she could reach her head, she would rip everything that touched it, off. But not these!

I have to bribe her withe food in her highchair in order to put anything but clippies in....it's worth it. Look how cute her little pig tails are!!

The weather has been really nice this week, so we did get to go to the park. Which Sweet Pea loves. She's not really able to do much except swing. But, man does she love swinging.

March 2014
Look how much Sweet Pea has changed, just since March! She looks like a toddler now! I still see a tiny baby when I see her, I'm not quite sure when this change took place, and I'm not sure I approve. She is growing and changing so much everyday, which is one of the main reasons I wanted to keep this blog.
May 2014

Her birthday is 6 days away. And her party is in 7 days. We're going up to my mom's again today to help her clean and get things ready for the party. Because this week has been so hard, I'm not really looking forward to it. I'd really like to just go to bed, and stay there all day.

Sweet Pea just woke up from a 30 minute nap. Her naps are usually 2-3 hours. Today is going to be fantastic.
